Smart Feeds are all about automated (or scheduled), curated content. Maybe you want to publish all content that contains the phrase ‘Breaking News’ in the description to Twitter, or content that contains ‘Recommendations’ in the title to your mobile app. Smart Feeds are useful for recommendations, on-the-fly editorials, instant issues and more.
From Content, select +New, +Feed, and then +Smart Feed.
Enter the following information in their respective fields:
- Name (Internal)*
- Title (External)
- Topic (selected from the dropdown)*
Now it’s time to set your Smart Feed parameters. MAZ will scan all titles, description, body text of an article, and metadata keyword tags to find an exact match to create the thematic feed.
Enter one keyword or a phrase, simple or complex; (these are the phrases you want to make it through the filter).
Note that you can create complex filters using the ‘and’/’or’ options, by selecting (not typing) the parentheses around each word(s), as well as the and/or buttons. These selections will appear green.
Likewise, creating negative keywords will tell the filter to exclude content from your feed.
Choose to sort the order in which content appears by two parameters: Best Match First or Most Recent First. Best Match First will take all keywords into consideration and order the best matches at the top of the feed. Most Recent First will order items based on publishing date.
Now that you have a thematic feed, you’re ready to add it to a Section in App Creator and push to any output on auto-publish. Alternatively, you can add it to the Queue to be posted at a scheduled time, or save it for manual publishing.
